Do Mammograms Cause Breast Cancer?

Breast cancer is the leading cause of death among American women aged 44 through 55. Since the early 1960s, early detection and screening has been pushed as the only possible way to survive breast cancer. However, recent research has suggested that mammograms have no effect on preventing breast cancer and may actually be causing it!

What Mammograms Do to Your Breasts

When you get a mammogram, you undress, lay your breasts on a cold slab and have them uncomfortably squished by a machine. Your breasts are then pumped full of radiation for fifteen minutes. Though the popular claim is these radiological tests can detect early cancer, they have actually been shown to cause it.

Research has suggested that a significant percentage of women have a gene called oncogene AC, which is very sensitive to even the smallest doses of radiation. Since a significant percentage of women in America have this gene, it is likely that regular mammography could greatly increase breast cancer risk. It is estimated that 10,000 carriers of the oncogene AC will die of breast cancer annually because of their mistaken belief that regular mammograms will protect them.

Mammograms Too Risky for Younger Women

With October being breast cancer awareness month, the world is awash with pink. This relentless campaign of promises spends more time spreading fear about the disease than actually curing cancer.

Each time October comes around, younger and younger women sign themselves up for mammograms. Younger women who have regular mammograms often fall victim to false positives due to denser breast tissue. A Canadian study revealed that a startling 52 percent increase in breast cancer mortality in women under 35 who were given annual mammograms.

False Positives Common in Mammography

In addition to harmful radiation exposure, mammograms often grossly overestimate incidents of malignant tumors. A Swedish study of 60,000 women revealed an alarming 70 percent of tumors detected by mammography weren’t tumors at all but rather fibrocystic breast tissue and other benign abnormalities.

This means hundreds of thousands of women are burdened with the financial and emotional strain of a cancer diagnosis as well as months of harmful chemotherapy and radiation treatments each year!

Breast Cancer in Your Breast Doesn’t Kill You

It may shock you to know that breast cancer in your breast won’t kill you. The disease only becomes deadly when it metastasizes and spreads to other organs or bones. The early detection theory began in the late 19th century. The idea behind it was that if cancer in the breast was detected before it spread, removing the tumor would prevent metastasis and early death.

The American Cancer Society got its start as a small group of concerned citizens in 1913. They made it their mission to band together and alert women about the dangers of breast cancer and how early detection could prevent it.

By the late 1930s, they were a 100,000-strong Woman’s Field Army who went door to door raising money and educating neighbors about the early symptoms of cancer.

When more and more women were diagnosed with breast and other female cancers, it was believed this early detection campaign was a wild success.

The hidden truth is that although more people did visit their doctors and more cancer was detected, early detection did nothing to increase the survival rate. Instead of this being the end of the campaign, it prompted surgeons to believe they needed to find the disease even sooner.

How the Pink Ribbon Campaign Confuses You into Compliance

In October, the world is pink and women are both shamed and confused into lining up for mammograms. Consider one campaign headline: “If you haven’t had a mammogram, you need more than your breast examined.”

Imagine, shaming a confused and uninformed woman into having a mammogram by subtly suggesting she’s insane! Surveys have shown that not only do a large majority of women think early detection through mammography finds breast cancer, they believe it actually prevents it.

Mammograms Benefit Only 3-13% of Women

The New England Journal of Medicine estimates that only 3-13 percent of women whose cancer was detected by early mammograms benefited from the screening. A large majority of breast cancer tumors are so small they don’t grow or move beyond the breast unless exposed to radiation, surgery, or chemotherapy.

Since the invention of first digital mammography in 1969, there is one type of breast cancer diagnosis that has increased by an incredible 328 percent!

Ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) is a stage zero cancer in which malignant cells are found in the milk ducts of the breast only. Left undetected and untreated, this cancer would never be noticed, never spread, and never lead to an early death.

Since the invention of the mammogram, however, those with DCIS account for 50,000 new breast cancer diagnoses each year. This means that completely healthy people are placed into the category of cancer survivor, giving an incredibly skewed impression of the success rate of early detection. Meanwhile, these once-healthy individuals are subjected to months of mental and physical torture by undergoing treatments they never needed while living with the stigma of disease.

Breast Thermography – Faster and Safer Than Mammography

If you’re nearing the age where your doctor has been talking about early detection and mammography, you have a safer alternative. Medical thermography has been available since the 1970s and uses a non-invasive method to detect breast cancer with no need for physical contact or radiation. While mammography is an anatomical study, thermography is physiological. Thermography uses an infrared camera to detect unilateral temperature increases in the tissue, which may indicate the development of cancer cells. This procedure is safe, painless, and much more accurate at detecting very early signs of disease.

From everything we’ve researched here at Health Scams Exposed, it’s clear that mammograms are much more likely to cause breast cancer than to help you prevent it.

Never let any doctor, corporation or person shame you into undergoing a medical procedure you know little to nothing about. Do some more research and talk with your doctor about medical thermography. The more knowledge you have, the easier it will be to make informed decisions about your health.

Mammograms may cause breast cancer? I bet you are just as floored as we were when we read the research. It’s this kind of out of the box thinking though that keeps Health Scams Exposed at the forefront of medical research and journalistic quality.

We believe that to beat cancer you have to think out of the box. Radiation…chemotherapy…invasive surgery…these are the treatments traditional medicine prescribes for every patient with cancer diagnosis. But we’ve proven time and again that you don’t need to kill your body to cure yourself from cancer. Instead you need to heal it from the inside out.

To read about more out of the box cancer treatments read this letter from our friend Ty Bollinger. His out of the box thinking has saved countless lives and given those with a terminal diagnosis a second chance. We would never forgive ourselves if we didn’t pass this information on to you and your loved ones.

Take care.
